The Annual Fund
Each year we ask all parents -- together with grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the School -- to support our Annual Fund with a donation in order to help close the gap between tuition and the "real cost" of education at Aurora.
Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund help keep tuition increases low, enable us to attract and retain a talented faculty, maintain our low student/teacher ratio of 13:1, ensure economic diversity in our student body, underwrite art, music, theater, athletic, Spanish language and library activities, and equip our students with the most up-to-date technology.
Giving to the best of your ability is a vote of confidence in the programs Aurora offers, and helps ensure stability and long-term growth.
Donations also help secure grants from corporations and foundations, which review total dollars raised from parents, as well as percentage of parent participation.
We ask that each family contribute their support according to their means. The key is 100% participation. Every independent school depends on annual giving for their stability and long-term growth. Aurora is no exception.
Annual Giving is our most important source of funds raised outside of tuition. Parents, staff, alumni parents, board members, and friends are asked to give tax-deductible contributions to support Aurora. What does that mean? There are many things that make Aurora special, from our small class size to our commitment to creating children who will be socially conscious leaders for the future. In short, we are building a foundation for a lifetime, and we cannot do that without you.
