Happy sisters
We believe an excellent education requires a diverse student body and staff, with individuals that embody gender, racial, ethnic, cultural, economic, sexual orientation and familial differences, as well as people with physical disabilities. A program that seeks to build knowledge and respect for people, ideas and traditions from a broad spectrum of experiences requires a mix of students.
Our curriculum, teaching strategies and parent activities reflect the school's commitment to diversity.
Our teachers provide instruction that is culturally responsive, inclusive and is consistent with the greater community's cultural characteristics. It is our goal that the Aurora School experience closely reflects the realities of pluralism and cultural diversity. Teachers help children connect to their own personal heritage and help them feel positive about the group to which they belong.
Ours is a community that actively works to be inclusive. We celebrate diversity by appreciating and encouraging each person to be their true self and to contribute their individual value as an important member of the Aurora family. Our diversity allows all of us to expand our minds while we enjoy and learn from one another.
