Friends and Family Day

One of the most beloved Aurora School traditions is our "Friends and Family Day" where we gather together, the day before Thanksgiving, to sing and share in the joys and blessings of our community.

Students at Aurora are asked to invite the special people in their lives to come to Aurora School to take part in a lovely morning of music, singing and celebration. After the performances, our students bring their guests to their classrooms to show them all of the amazing work they have been producing so far this year.

This year the student performances are inspired by a book titled "Wish" by Roeanne Thong, that describes wishing traditions from around the world. Kathy, in the Library, Alex, in the Woodshop, Kerry, in the Art Room, Alexandra in Spanish and Holly in Music class have all used this book to weave these stories into their respective curriculum.

On Wednesday, November 25, 2009 we will gather in the auditorium from 11am to 11:45am for our community celebration before visiting the classrooms.

We hope you can join us and wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
