Giving Opportunities
You do not just need to be a family currently attending Aurora School to help make a difference. Friends, neighbors, alumni and extended family members of Aurora students can help support a child's education. Choose any of the following ways to give:
Direct Gifts
Gifts to the Annual Fund may be made via cash, check, Visa, Amex and Master Card. Please contact Aurora School at (510) 428-2606 x202 or send email to if you have any questions.
Employee Matching Gifts
Your employer may have a program, which matches and increases the value of your contribution to the School. Please contact your company's personnel office for information and required forms.
Gifts of Stock and Securities
If you wish to make a gift of securities or stock, please contact Mai-Stella Khantouche, in the Finance Office, at (510) 428-2606 x226.
Gifts-in-Kind
We welcome gifts such as computers, cameras, software, library books, furniture, professional services and other items relevant to our educational programs. Bequests and Planned Gifts
Planned and deferred gifts through wills, bequests, trusts and insurance can provide a significant contribution to Aurora's programs and long-term stability. Merchant Rebates
Merchants and vendors you normally support can donate a portion of your shopping dollars to Aurora School. Details about the program are distributed to families at the beginning of the school year. They are:
- eScrip - register and use your credit/debit Safeway Club or Macy's cards at participating eScrip merchants such as Whole Foods, Village Market, Baja Fresh and a percentage of your total bill is donated to Aurora School. www.escrip.com Aurora ID#: 121952191
- Schoolpop - sign up with www.schoolpop.com and when you shop online accessing your favorite merchant via the schoolpop website, Aurora School will receive up to a 6% rebate on your purchases. www.schoolpop.com Aurora ID#: 102291
- Washington Mutual Bank - register your Washington Mutual Visa check card in the Wamoola for Schools program, and Washington Mutual will make a cash donation based on the amount you spend with your card.
- Collect redeemable coupons off packaged food and household products, and turn them into to Aurora School for a cash rebate for our School.
Book Fairs
Book fairs are held twice a year, at the same time as parent-teacher conferences. A wide selection of books is available for children and adults, and a percentage of each purchase is donated to help the Aurora library grow.
Scholarship Raffle
Here's where Aurora kids and families get into the action by selling raffle tickets to raise money for tuition assistance. Help support the economic diversity we stand for by helping secure raffle gifts and coordinating the sales effort in busy shopping areas.
Automobile Donations
You may donate your vehicle through All Bay Vehicle Donations in Concord www.carsforcharities.com To donate a car, please contact the company directly at 1-877-700-GIVE or 925-827-1709. A representative will determine whether the vehicle is accepted for auction, and will make arrangements for pick up or delivery and for completion of documentation. Please tell the representative that the auction proceeds should be sent to Aurora School, Oakland CA. Also please contact Aurora School at (510) 428-2606 x202 or send email to when the vehicle has been accepted for auction to benefit the School.
All donations to the School are tax deductible as allowed by law. Aurora School gifts are formally acknowledged upon receipt.
