How to apply for the 2008-2009 school year

In making enrollment decisions, Aurora School does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, national or ethnic origin. Aurora seeks to enroll children who will benefit from its academic program and its method of teaching. In addition, Aurora will give preference to qualified siblings and children who will assist the School in achieving a balanced and diverse student body.

1. Attend our Parent Information Night

November 6, 2008, 7pm to 9 pm

3. Complete all application materials and include $60 application fees

Kindergarten applicants must be 5 years old by September 1st.
Upper grade applicants must also submit progress reports from the last few years.

4. Ask a teacher to complete a teacher recommendation form

The teacher recommendation form is to be filled out by one of your child's current teacher. Children coming from the home schooling community may have a mentor or adult who has worked academically with your child complete the recommendation form.

5. Complete financial aid forms

SSS forms due: January 2009
Aurora financial assistance forms due: January 30, 2009

Late applicants: Forms must be completed and returned within one week of receipt

6. Student assessment and interviews

Aurora does not use standardized testing in the admission process. We will contact applicants with specific information.

7. Notification of admissions decisions

Siblings of continuing families: December 2, 2008
New applicants: March 13, 2009
This date is the same for all East Bay Independent Schools

8. Enrollment contracts and payments due

Continuing students: February 23, 2009
New students: March 20, 2009

Late applicants: Forms must be completed and returned within one week of receipt

Aurora will accept and consider applications after these deadlines, but will give preference to applications filed within the original deadlines.
