Reynaldo Almeida appointed to executive committee of Call-to-Action
Today, the Director and Associate Director of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) appointed Reynaldo Almeida to the Call-To-Action executive committee for a two year term, starting in the Fall of 2008.
The mission of the Call-to-Action (CTA), NAIS's national think tank and advisory counsel on diversity, is:
- to address current and emerging issues of equity and justice in independent schools
- to support the creation of healthy inclusive and equitable educational communities
- to identify best practices and assist in the development of sustainable initiatives and action steps for NAIS and its member schools, and
- to provide opportunities for mutual support and professional development for its membership.
As a member of the executive committee, Rey Almeida will also be serving on the steering committee of POCC (People of Color Conference).
Mr. Almeida is thrilled and honored to have been appointed and feels privileged to be able to represent Aurora on a national level as a member of these committees.
NAIS is the national voice of independent education, and offer standards, targeted resources, and networking opportunities for our 1,300 member schools.
