Integrated Curriculum - learning about trees in the K/1 classroom
- During a K/1 hands-on science lesson, students experience and practice the scientific method using apples.

Multi-graded Classrooms and Differentiated Instruction
- Students work together during a K/1 mathematics lesson to discover, describe and practice grouping strategies, counting and number writing skills, and predicting outcomes.
- K/1 self-portraits illustrate their growth as learners and artists over time, celebrates their differences and integrates the core curriculum.

Morning Meetings in the K/1 Classrooms
Students greet every day with a morning meeting, a series of activities that bring routine and ritual to the day, identify the star of the day, and help them focus.

Specialist Classes
- Spanish class is filled with song, movement and games all spoken in Spanish.
- Woodshop is a specialist class that is part of the weekly K/1 classes where students work on tasks or projects that complement their academic curriculum.
Celebrating Community - Friends And Family Day
- Enjoy the musical numbers our Room 2 and Room 3 K/1 classes created, rehearsed and performed for Friends and Family Day.
- Each 2/3 class created their own performance piece. Room 1 presented a musical and spoken word piece, Room 4 created their own instrumental number.
- An original musical and spoken work performance piece created and presented by both 4/5 classes.
